Wow... what a gem we found after a round of crazy golf that is a 1 minute walk away. Family owned cafe by mother and son with fantastic and enthusiastic waiting staff. Car park around the back. A tight knit operation driven by passion to make great food and provide excellent service. Awesome. Walkers and cyclists, families were seated. Finding a table took 5 minutes as they were busy and covid restrictions were in place. Indoors was not available at the time. The food was mouth watering - the quiches were fantastic, I mean absolutely fantastic - all made in-house by mum - coffee superbly made, and the cakes - yum. The bacon and sausage bun was polished off by our son and when we discovered we’d forgotten to remind the waiter we didn’t want butter on the bun they changed without hesitation. UGo there hungry. I noticed a very positive and polite elderly gentleman who was serving and he deserves special mention because his demeanour and service made us feel very welcome and special - a...

Excellent place for a nice lunch. We had just gotten to the Lake District and had stopped in Ambleside for lunch. Had read the reviews for this place and it did not disappoint. Got a stable outside right away without any wait which was great. Service is just a class apart. Very friendly and they bring out quiches to show you their special which they highly recommend. We did go with a couple portions of the quiche and also ordered a toasted sandwich. Everything was excellent. Coffee and shakes were made really well. Quiche slices are huge and finishing them is a hurdle, so be mindful of that. They also allow you to place orders at the pie shop next to it which is great as your can do a bit of mix and match. We would have loved to try some of the cakes as well but were extremely full after the meal. Definitely a must visit if you are anywhere nearby.

This place is fantastic and deserves its spot as #1 best place to eat in Ambleside. I left feeling happy with a good feeling due to the wonderful service and great food, I happily ordered more as I wanted to give them my service. This was a great place to visit after we climbed Helvellyn. The service was quick and made sure that people were seated in the order they arrived. We both had oat milk lattes and cappuccinos as well as a smoothie, which were perfectly made. I had the cooked breakfast and my girlfriend just wanted some eggs and mushrooms, which the were happy to do and only charged us the cost of having these as a side. I finished off with another coffee and a slice of Bakewell that was also great. Overall this is a fantastic place to eat and I look forward to visiting again next time I am back in the Lake District. This is a prime example of how an independent family run cafe should be.
